Pantone recently announced its much-anticipated Color of the Year for 2023, and it’s certainly an exciting one. The color is “Viva Magenta” and the company describes the hypnotizing hue as “a new animated red that revels in pure joy, encouraging experimentation and self-expression without restraint, an electrifying, and a boundary-less shade that is manifesting as a stand-out statement.” We couldn’t agree more!
Whenever Pantone announces their Color of the Year, it’s common to see the selected shade pop up in fashion and home decor trends. But our favorite way to encounter the color is during our travels. Although Viva Magenta might be tougher to find compared to some of Pantone’s previous selections, it is absolutely possible here in Martin County. Here are some different ways to spot the shade out the in the wild!
In Our Sunrises and Sunsets
Martin County is home to legendary sunrises and sunsets. Our skies regularly light up in glorious golds, ravishing reds, and powerful purples. But you can also spot Viva Magenta pretty frequently! Just keep your eyes peeled (and don’t forget to share it on social media using #DiscoverMartin if you happen to snap a pic)!
In Our Beachside Blooms
Our uncrowded Martin County beaches are always a treat, but they take on an extra special beauty when pink and purple flowers blossom along the shore. Here’s an example taken at Blowing Rocks Preserve in Hobe Sound.
In Our Nightlife
In Martin County, there’s always something to do. Areas like Downtown Stuart, Jensen Beach, and Port Salerno have great nightlife scenes where you can enjoy live music and dance the night away. And at Tako Tiki, their outdoor stage can usually be found bathed in Viva Magenta, creating an electric glow!
In Our Local Art
Arts and culture thrive in Martin County, evidenced by our colorful galleries, beautiful theatres, and other historic venues. We also have incredibly talented artists who have painted larger-than-life murals around town, like the Hobe Sound Mural Project, and this example in Downtown Stuart completed by Christopher Vitale!
In Our Wildlife
With more than 22 miles of beaches and over 100,000 acres of parks and conservation land, Martin County is teeming with incredible wildlife and thrilling eco-adventures. One great example is the jaw-dropping roseate spoonbill. Just look at that stunning coloring!
