Join us this Stewardship Sunday for a morning working in our native plant nursery!
Mangroves play a vital role in coastal ecosystems, from providing habitats for small marine organisms to protecting our homes from storm surges, these plants do a LOT! That’s why we work hard to maintain our coastal wetland environment’s mangrove population, and grow them here in our native plant nursery!
This week we will be working in the mangrove pools doing some routine maintenance. No prior experience is necessary, this is a FREE volunteer opportunity, open to all! Advance registration is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome if space allows.
Prepare to spend your time in the sun walking on uneven terrain, and keep in mind your feet always have the potential to get wet. Please note the sand gets hot. Please come prepared with sun protection, a reusable water bottle, and bug spray if needed.
*Light to moderate physical activity.
*Recommended for ages 8+, all youth under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
