Seminole War Presentation
19 Aug

Join us at the Elliott Museum for an exclusive, riveting history lecture series for the duration of our new Seminole exhibit. The first presentation is at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19.

Come and discover deep perspective and insight into the Seminole Wars as we welcome our first guest, James Flaherty. He is a longtime historical reenactor and incredibly skilled artisan. His impressions have included the American Revolution War, 1830s fur trade mountain man, Seminole War, Civil War, Indian, and Spanish American war. He has appeared in many historical movies and videos over the last 32 years.

During his Seminole War Presentation, you will come to understand:

The historical summary of the three Seminole Wars
Life of the soldier on the march
Weapons and accoutrements of the participants
Author-made, period-correct leather goods
Original guns from the period
