A fun “Student Social,” hosted by MartinArts, invites students to celebrate the arts with an afterschool party and exclusive preview of its newest exhibition, the Marvin S. Cone 36th Annual High School Juried Art Show. The student-created, student-led event takes place 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 27 at MartinArts’ Court House Cultural Center Gallery, 80 S.E. Ocean Blvd. in Downtown Stuart. Admission: FREE and open to all high school students attending schools in Martin County.
Attendees to this exciting inaugural event, will be treated to refreshments and a live music performance. Students who register at the event, will be entered to win a giveaway basket, filled with artisan items and gifts donated by community businesses.
The Student Social – organized by Juliana Vallone, a motivated MartinArts Intern, and Clark Advanced Learning Center senior – is designed to promote MartinArts’ new, discounted student membership program. Vallone, of Palm City, an artist whose work will be on display in the exhibition, tailored benefits to attract students to participate in the arts, build audiences for artists, and enjoy special benefits that come with membership.
“We cheer and celebrate the diverse qualities and talents of young adults in our community and invite them to get to know MartinArts as a resource for their creative, personal and professional goals,” said Nancy K. Turrell, Executive Director of MartinArts.
Businesses and organizations who signed on early to ensure the event’s success, include Stuart Art Supply and Studio, Historical Society of Martin County – Elliott Museum and Gilbert’s Bar House of Refuge; Epic Theatres – Regency 8; Chick-Fil-A, and more!
