Join us in uncovering the secrets of our beloved gopher tortoise on this guided nature walk at Halpatiokee Park, May 15, 9:00am.
Tortoises, turtles and terrapins- oh my! On the eve of National Gopher Tortoise Day, we will embark on a scenic nature walk to learn about the mysterious and interesting lives of these iconic animals, as well as conservation and management efforts aimed to sustain them. For this walk we will be joined by a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission tortoise specialist! Don’t miss out!

FREE program, but reservations are required
This program will begin at 9:00am and last until approximately 11:00am
The walk will be 2 miles across various natural surfaces, including sand
Please wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear
Bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray
Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by an adult
All participants will be required to sign waivers that will be provided at the start of the program
