Join us for our next Coffee & Conservation gathering at the Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center as we explore the vital role of seagrass in the health of the St. Lucie Estuary and Indian River Lagoon.
Seagrass meadows are the foundation of our coastal ecosystems. They provide habitat for fish and wildlife, stabilize sediments, improve water clarity, and support species such as manatees that depend on these underwater meadows as food to survive.
At this gathering, we will:
- Watch a short film on the current state of seagrass in Florida
- Discuss:
- Why seagrass loss matters for our economy, water quality and marine life
- What restoration efforts are underway
- How our community can help protect and restore these critical habitats
- Go on a behind-the-scenes tour of our seagrass nursery
Space is limited. Please RSVP!
