Hobe Sound Scrub Preserve
The Hobe Sound Scrub Preserve is a 28-acre ecological gem located south of Bridge Road between US-1 and Dixie Highway in Martin County, and is almost entirely comprised of rare sand pine scrub habitat.
AMENITIES:
- Access road
- Parking facilities
- Picnic pavilion
- Outdoor exercise stations
- A shaded bench structure
- Flat shell rock trail and an unimproved scrub ridge trail
The preserve is located on an ancient sand dune that formed when most of Florida was under the ocean over 100,000 years ago. Scrub habitat is critical because it supports a wide variety of rare listed species including threatened Scrub Jays.
