Dorran Ruben Russell is certainly one who takes art to a higher level of definition. He has undeniable infinite possibilities in his expression and creativity.

The mediums used by the artist are, applied oil and acrylic mixes to raw canvas in thick rich build ups that allow carving directly into the painting surface combining the old master’s techniques with contemporary abstraction.

The end result are beautifully sculptured paintings that cannot be duplicated and are without question one-of-a-kind originals. His latest paintings are the high mark of a forty-four-year career.
