Join us this winter at the annual CCI Lecture Series!
We are excited to welcome you to these in-person events at Blowing Rocks Preserve inside the Hawley Education Center’s Classroom.
The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is the world’s leading nonprofit organization working on fire issues. TNC’s approach has evolved from one that was primarily focused on managing preserves for biodiversity to one that includes developing policy and funding, supporting the leadership of Indigenous fire practitioners, growing skilled fire management workforces and helping communities develop ways to live more safely with wildfire. Florida’s landscapes are full of plants that thrive with fire—come learn why that’s a good thing! Explore how fire-adapted species keep ecosystems healthy and what simple steps you can take to make your home Firewise. Learn how local actions contribute to greater conservation efforts.
All lectures are free but require advance registration.
