Birding and Photography at C44
11 Oct

Join our birding guides for this field trip at the C-44 Stormwater Treatment Area (STA) wetlands in western Martin County. One may view dozens of bird species, including: snail kites, a variety of herons, egrets, ducks, roseate spoonbills, wood storks, migratory shorebirds and more.

Registration required. Arrive 15 minutes before the start time.

  • Location: C-44 STA Main Gate — approximately 2 miles east of SR 710 on SW Citrus Boulevard.
  • We are planning on having both photographers and bird watchers at the event. Volunteers will take birders on guided tours if preferred — while photographers will once again be given open access.
  • Bring: binoculars, spotting scopes, cameras, water, and sunscreen.
