The Rocky Horror Picture Show, a 1975 musical science-fiction horror-comedy classic film, will again, in keeping with its biennial tradition, be shown on The Barn Theatre’s BIG SCREEN with a LIVE SHADOW CAST acting out the film’s action on stage.
In this cult classic, now celebrating its 50th Golden Anniversary, sweethearts Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon), stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry), a transvestite scientist who claims to be from another planet. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker (Meat Loaf) and a creepy butler (Richard O’Brien). Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named “Rocky.” Just when Brad and Janet think things couldn’t get any stranger, a biker bursts onto the scene to reclaim Columbia, his ex-girlfriend. When Frank kills the biker, it’s clear that Brad and Janet will be guests for the night, and that they may be next on Frank’s list — whether for murder or carnal delights is uncertain. And just what is that mystery meat they’re eating for dinner, anyway?
The audience will have an opportunity to purchase prop bags consisting of water pistols, confetti, toilet paper, newspaper, playing cards, noise makers, rubber gloves, glow sticks and other assorted items to be used during the show. Tickets are only $45. Prop bags are $5. Join The Rocky Horror Golden Anniversary by dressing up and make sure you learn the Time Warp dance. This show may not be suitable for younger children.
So, join us for the re-appearance of the Time Warp, with our special zany “LIVE SHADOW CAST,” October 24th at 7PM and October 25th at 7 PM, and a special “midnight” show at 11:45 PM.
