Where even is this place?
The Treasure Coast is located on the southeastern coast of Florida. The region is comprised of three counties: Martin County, St. Lucie County and Indian River County.
Indian River County
From agricultural farms and citrus groves to osprey and turtle nesting, Indian River County is the ultimate escape from skyscrapers and big-city life. The northernmost county of the Treasure Coast boasts over 140 locally owned restaurants, a renowned museum and theater scene, botanical gardens and the opportunity to snorkel through historic shipwrecks. You’re guaranteed to leave this unexpected cultural gem feeling refreshed and relaxed.
St. Lucie County
Located in between Indian River and Martin County, St. Lucie offers 21 miles of beaches, world-class fishing and championship golf, along with countless other outdoor and nature adventures. Explore the thriving art scenes and farmer’s markets that make up this historic county, catch a New York Mets spring training game, horseback ride down the beach and explore the respected Navy Seal Museum when you vacation in St. Lucie.
Martin County
Catch the sunrise over the Atlantic and the sunset over Lake Okeechobee all in one day when you visit Martin County. The southernmost county of the Treasure Coast is home to over 96,000 acres of parks and conservation land as well as the most biodiverse lagoon ecosystem in the Northern Hemisphere. Located within two hours or less driving time of four international airports, Martin County offers unforgettable scenic landscapes, quaint downtown areas and more water activities than you could probably name.
There’s a reason it’s called the Treasure Coast.
In the early 18th century, a fleet of Spanish ships carrying gold, silver and jewels shipwrecked right off the Treasure Coast, giving this area its well-deserved name. To this day, these treasures still adorn the waters and can be found washed up on the shores, making the region not only ideal for relaxation, but for treasure hunting as well.
