Florida’s Treasure Coast has officially debuted season two of their celebrated podcast, “Don’t Come Here: Stories of the Treasure Coast” featuring brand-new host, Daniel Russo, better known as “Dano.” Dano is a Treasure Coast resident with more than 25 years of radio experience, serving as the legendary host and executive producer of popular shows such as “The Love Doctors,” “On Call with Dano and Maegan,” and “Dano and Nutter Afternoons.”
The Treasure Coast team announced an open casting call in August to find a new host for the podcast’s second season, attracting more than 30 talented candidates. After careful review and an extensive round of interviews, Dano was selected as the new host based on his sincere passion, impressive hosting experience, and deep knowledge of the Treasure Coast.
“The Treasure Coast offers an endless intersection of unique people and diverse surroundings, so it’s quite humbling to have this opportunity to be a guide and digital concierge as the new podcast host,” said Dano. “From inland to offshore, I am charged up and eager to share in the never-ending exploration of this haven for all things awesome.”
The new season launched on November 1 with an episode dedicated to the region’s fine dining scene. Each monthly episode highlights a new theme and features an ever-changing panel of local experts. Upcoming episodes will explore topics including romantic retreats, conservation and eco-tourism experiences, travel tips, and more.
The “Don’t Come Here” podcast was also recently recognized during the 2022 Travel Weekly Magellan Awards, winning an esteemed Gold Magellan Award in the “Destination Marketing – Podcast” category. The annual awards program showcases the best marketing efforts in the global travel industry across a range of segments including Travel Destinations, Hospitality, Cruise Lines, Tour Operators, and more.
The cheeky podcast was introduced in 2021 by the Indian River, St. Lucie, and Martin County Tourism Offices as a regional marketing initiative to highlight the fascinating personalities and unique experiences that make the Treasure Coast such a special vacation destination. It was developed in partnership with 8th Avenue Studios.
Listeners can find “Don’t Come Here” streaming on platforms such as Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and Spotify. Full visual episodes are also available in video format on the official Treasure Coast YouTube channel.
