There is nothing better than blue skies, warm rays and white sands on a hot summer day! Temperatures may be highest in the summertime, but the waters of the Atlantic Ocean are perfect for wading, floating, swimming, surfing and more. Whether you’re sunbathing on Jensen Beach, surfing on Fletcher Beach or building sandcastles on Hobe Sound Beach, summertime provides the perfect beach weather conditions.

Unforgettable Events
Martin County is known for its impressive calendar of events – and the summer season is no exception! This June, Martin County will welcome the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson and the Annual Lionfish Roundup, while July will play host to the Manatee Island Ladies Fishing Tournament and August to the Buck Wild Fish Roundup. No matter the month, you’re sure to find a slew of events to please your travel party.

Lighter Crowds
Unlike a lot of Florida beach destinations, summertime is known as off-season in Martin County. Lighter crowds mean more room at the beach, shorter waits at restaurants and lower rates on Martin County accommodations.

You can order an ice-cold beverage anytime, but there is something extra satisfying about a chilly drink on a steamy, summer day. If frozen drinks make you smile, hop on over to Mulligan’s Beach House Bar & Grill in Stuart. Lighter crowds means less people in the water and that means more wave-catching opportunities! Whether you’re a surfing star or a first-timer, we suggest stopping by one of Martin County’s surf shops, like Surf Central, Cowabunga Surf and Sport or Ohana, to rent/buy surf gear and get tips from Martin County surfing experts. You’ll be hanging ten in no time!
