Here are a few upcoming happenings that we’re looking forward to this season. From not-so-scary to truly spooktacular, be sure to add these seasonal events to your list!
October 15 and 16
FireFest at Jonathan Dickinson State Park
FireFest is an annual community family event to celebrate Florida’s relationship with fire. Learn about the importance of prescribed fire (controlled burns), safety awareness, and how important fire truly is to our local wildlife and community. Expect live fire demos, hayrides, swamp buggy tours through the park, pumpkin patches, campfires, food and drinks, ghost tours, and much more! Park admission is $6 per vehicle and cash is recommended.

Hoot-tacular Kids Event
Join the Treasure Coast Wildlife Hospital team for a kid-friendly afternoon filled with fun! There will be live animal encounters, ticketed activities, games, food, and more! This event is free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!

Spooktacular Night at the Park
Looking for a Halloween event for the whole family? Look no further than our annual Spooktacular: Night at the Park Event! Join us at the Stuart Shuffleboard Center for a custom Haunted House (this year’s theme is Classic Thrillers), watch a movie, enjoy food trucks, and go trunk or treating with community partners on our Spooky Trail! Be sure to wear a costume for an extra fun time!

Annual Creepy Creature Feature
Bring the whole family and celebrate Halloween with the Hobe Sound Nature Center at the Annual Creepy Creature Feature free event! This year’s theme is Frightful Flyers: Bats, Owls, Moths and other Florida creatures! Visitors will get to meet live animals, complete crafts, play games, and get glitter tattoos. There will also be prizes and a costume contest – just be sure to reserve a space as capacity will be limited.

Fall Fest & Movie Night
Head over to Timer Powers Park for the annual Fall Fest & Movie Night event. Kick off the fall season with great family fun! The park will be filled with a variety of activities and food trucks that will satisfy your appetite. Kids of all ages can enjoy the Kids Fun Zone, a Fall Arts and Craft station, and much more! Come dressed up in your favorite Halloween costume for the all-ages costume contest! To make this great event even better, enjoy some holiday and festive music with a live DJ playing all the top hits. At 8pm, they will start showing “Ghostbusters” on a massive 20-foot LED screen!

Trick or Treat Stroll
Join The Children’s Museum for a fun evening at our Trick-or-Treat Stroll on October 29th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m! Tickets will be priced at $3 for non-members and Members are free. Enjoy Trick-or-Treat stations at exhibits throughout the museum! This event will also have a virtual costume contest, food trucks, and of course some spook-tacular decorations!

Halloween Hay Ride
Preston Contemporary Dance Theatre will host a “Haunted Hayride” at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Expect to encounter dancing ghouls, zombies, aliens, and more. Admission is free with a non-perishable food donation to be distributed by the dance company (think: canned soups with beef or chicken; canned tuna or chicken with pop-tops or single serve soft-packs; Vienna sausages; Beanie-Weenies; fruit cups or applesauce; nutritional bars; fruit Pop Tarts; and breakfast bars). Trunk or Treat
Everyone is invited to come by and fill your bags with Halloween treats from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office and local businesses! This is a free family event and will be held on Halloween from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Don’t forget your costume!
