Anyone who enjoys books being read aloud is welcome to attend. Our nature trails are not paved\, but strollers that have wheels at least 1 inch wide shouldn’t have any difficulty going over. \nSeating area will be under a covered pavilion with picnic tables. Restrooms are available. There is also a water fountain and water bottle re-fill station. DESCRIPTION:Look through telescopes at the night sky with Treasure Coast Astronomical Society in the park after dark.\n\n\n\nSavannas Preserve State Park is proud to host a Star Party (Gathering of friends and other like-minded people to observe the night sky) with beloved members of the Treasure Coast Astronomical Society at our Jensen Beach Entrance off Jensen Beach Blvd on Saturday December 27th from 6-9pm. Pending clear skies\, we hope to view Venus\, Saturn\, Jupiter\, and of course\, stars! Bring your cellphone to take pictures through the telescope! You may also wish to bring chairs to sit and enjoy the sounds of the marsh after dark. \nCost for the event is free with $3 park admission fee/vehicle or $2 for bicyclists/pedestrians. Please take a blue envelope from the honor box and put exact change in envelope before dropping in box. Hang the blue hanger from your windshield and park in the designated parking to the right. \nIf using a pass\, please write your pass number on the blue envelope and drop in the honor box before hanging the blue hanger in the window. \nThings to consider: You may wish to bring bug spray as the Preserve is near a marsh. DESCRIPTION:A Ranger will read a nature themed book and then lead a short guided hike of our Jensen Beach White Trail (0.5 mi). Anyone who enjoys books being read aloud is welcome to attend. Our nature trails are not paved\, but strollers that have wheels at least 1 inch wide shouldn’t have any difficulty going over. \nSeating area will be under a covered pavilion with picnic tables. Restrooms are available. There is also a water fountain and water bottle re-fill station. Please make sure to bring water and sun protection. \nEvent is free with park admission: $3/vehicle (up to 8 people) or $2/pedestrian or bicyclist. Please take a blue envelope from the yellow\, metal box on the right side of the road just past the gates. If you do not have exact change\, a QR code to purchase pass online is on the honor box. DESCRIPTION:Savannas Preserve State Park is proud to host a Star Party (Gathering of friends and other like-minded people to observe the night sky) with beloved members of the Treasure Coast Astronomical Society at our Jensen Beach Entrance off Jensen Beach Blvd on Saturday November 1st from 7-9pm. Pending clear skies\, we hope to view Venus\, Saturn\, Jupiter\, and of course\, stars! Bring your cellphone to take pictures through the telescope! You may also wish to bring chairs to sit and enjoy the sounds of the marsh after dark. \nCost for the event is free with $3 park admission fee/vehicle or $2 for bicyclists/pedestrians. Please take a blue envelope from the honor box and put exact change in envelope before dropping in box. Hang the blue hanger from your windshield and park in the designated parking to the right. \nIf using a pass\, please write your pass number on the blue envelope and drop in the honor box before hanging the blue hanger in the window. \nThings to consider: You may wish to bring bug spray as the Preserve is near a marsh. DESCRIPTION:Park volunteer and Florida Master Naturalist Paul Strauss will lead a guided\, interpretive hike of our Hawk’s Bluff Trail. The hike is easy going\, with frequent stops to elaborate on the natural history of key Florida plants found on the trail as well as the historical uses of the land and resources. The hike is approximately an hour and a half and covers 0.9 miles with parts over hills of soft sugar sand. Restrooms are not available at this location.
