SUMMARY:Audubon Lecture Series: Birdsong
DESCRIPTION:Event Description: Birdsong is more than a beautiful part of nature—it plays a vital role in communication\, courtship\, and survival. In this engaging presentation\, behavioral ecologist Rindy C. Anderson will explore the science behind how and why birds sing\, what these vocalizations reveal about their behavior\, and how environmental changes may affect avian communication. Drawing on extensive research in the field of bioacoustics\, Dr. Anderson will offer a fascinating look at the language of birds and what it can teach us about the natural world. \nAbout the Speaker: Dr. Rindy Anderson is an associate professor of biological sciences at Florida Atlantic University\, where she leads research on animal communication and behavioral ecology. Her work focuses on songbird vocal behavior and the evolutionary and ecological factors shaping their communication systems. She has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and is a frequent speaker on the intersection of science\, conservation\, and public engagement. \nFree event!
