SUMMARY:Crowned in Jewels: The Fabergé Imperial Egg Collection
DESCRIPTION:Step into a world of royal elegance\, imperial intrigue\, and astonishing craftsmanship as we unveil “Crowned in Jewels”—a breathtaking exhibit featuring 50 meticulously crafted replica Fabergé Imperial Eggs! \nOriginally created between 1885 and 1916 for the Russian Imperial family\, these eggs were more than Easter gifts—they were dazzling secrets wrapped in gold\, enamel\, and gems\, each holding a hidden surprise inside. \nDiscover the romance and mystery behind these legendary treasures that once delighted the Empresses of the Romanov dynasty—gifts so exquisite\, even the Tsars didn’t know what surprise they held. \nWith only 50 Imperial Eggs ever made\, this rare collection of replicas captures the beauty and grandeur of history’s most luxurious Easter tradition.\nThe Fabergé Imperial Eggs: A Gilded Legacy \nThe Fabergé Imperial Eggs are some of the most exquisite and storied creations in the history of decorative arts. Commissioned by the Russian tsars between 1885 and 1916\, these bejeweled masterpieces were handcrafted by the House of Fabergé for the Russian Imperial family. \nThe tradition began when Tsar Alexander III sought a unique Easter gift for his wife\, Empress Maria Feodorovna. He commissioned a jeweled egg from Peter Carl Fabergé\, a renowned Russian jeweler. The result was the first Imperial Easter Egg\, a white enameled shell that opened to reveal a golden yolk\, inside of which nestled a tiny golden hen\, and within the hen—a miniature imperial crown and a ruby pendant (now lost). \nImpressed\, the Empress adored it\, and Fabergé was appointed “Goldsmith by Special Appointment to the Imperial Crown.” From that year forward\, Fabergé was entrusted with complete creative freedom—but each egg had to include a surprise. \nUnder Nicholas II\, Alexander’s son\, the tradition continued with two eggs commissioned annually: one for his mother and one for his wife\, Empress Alexandra Feodorovna. \nIn total\, 50 Imperial Eggs were created before the Russian Revolution ended the Romanov reign and halted the tradition. Each egg combined remarkable craftsmanship\, innovation\, and opulence\, symbolizing the luxurious and often tragic world of the last Russian imperial family. \nToday\, these treasures are scattered across the globe—some in museums\, others in private collections—making any full or replica collection a rare and dazzling sight to behold. \nDon’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance to walk among royal wonders and uncover the magic hidden inside every egg! \nALL EXHIBITS ARE INCLUDED WITH REGULAR ADMISSIONS

SUMMARY:The Notorious Ashley Gang Exhibit 1910-1924
DESCRIPTION:PERMANENT EXHIBIT \nJohn Ashley was an American outlaw\, bank robber\, bootlegger\, and occasional pirate active in southern Florida during the 1910s and 1920s. \nBetween 1915 and 1924\, the self-styled “King of the Everglades” or “Swamp Bandit” operated from various hideouts in the Florida Everglades. His gang robbed nearly $1 million from at least 40 banks while at the same time hijacking numerous shipments of illegal whiskey being smuggled into the state from the Bahamas. Indeed\, Ashley’s gang was so effective that rum-running on the Florida coast virtually ceased while the gang was active. His two-man raid on the West End in the Bahamas in 1924 marked the first time in over a century that American pirates had attacked a British Crown colony. \nAmong poor Florida “crackers”\, he was considered a folk hero who represented a symbol of resistance to bankers\, lawmen and wealthy landowners. Ashley’s activities also hindered Prohibition bootleggers in major cities\, whose importation of foreign liquor undermined local moonshiners. Even the newspapers of the era frequently compared him to Jesse James. Almost every major crime in Florida was blamed on Ashley and his gang and one Florida official called him the greatest threat to the state since the Seminole Wars. \nHis near 13-year feud with Palm Beach County Sheriff George B. Baker ended in the death of Ashley and his three lieutenants in 1924. \nAll permanent exhibits are included with Elliott Museum Regular Admission

SUMMARY:Wheels of Change Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:PERMANENT EXHIBIT \nFrom the Dawn of the Automobile to Cutting-Edge Innovation\nThe automobile didn’t just change how we travel — it transformed how we live\, work\, and connect. From early horseless carriages to sleek modern machines\, the evolution of the car mirrors over a century of cultural\, economic\, and technological change. \nAt the Elliott Museum\, The Wheels of Change brings that story to life — and it begins with a jaw-dropping display unlike anything you’ve seen in a museum before. \nABOUT OUR CAR RACKING SYSTEM\nIt’s not just for storage — it’s a moving piece of engineering art.\nOur one-of-a-kind\, three-story\, climate-controlled\, robotic car storage and retrieval system showcases over 50 extraordinary classic and antique cars in a way that’s as innovative as the vehicles themselves. With the push of a button\, the system springs into action\, retrieving a gleaming automobile and rotating it into view — an experience that turns history into theater. \nWHY IT’S UNIQUE\nFirst museum in the U.S. to integrate an advanced industrial-automation system into its public galleries.\nMaximizes space to display more of our automotive treasures while keeping them preserved.\nInteractive experience with kiosks\, curated media\, and storytelling that connects each vehicle to a moment in automotive history. \nA COLLECTION THAT MOVES YOU\nThe racking system is just part of our diverse transportation collection\, which also includes:\nOver 90 classic cars and trucks — with 50-55 featured in the automated system.\nVintage motorcycles\, including a rare 1915 Harley-Davidson.\nEarly bicycles honoring Sterling Elliott’s inventive spirit.\nA full-scale replica of the 1911 Hugh Willoughby Pelican hydro-aeroplane. \nThe Wheels of Change is more than a car exhibit — it’s a journey through the history of innovation\, from the first turn of the crank to the precision of modern robotics. Come see how far we’ve traveled… and where the road leads next. \nAll permanent exhibits are included with Elliott Museum Regular Admission

SUMMARY:Wonderful Things…The Return of King Tut
DESCRIPTION:“As my eyes grew accustomed to the light\, details of the room within emerged slowly from the mist\, strange animals\, statues\, and gold – everywhere the glint of gold…when Lord Carnarvon\, unable to stand the suspense any longer\, inquired anxiously\, ‘Can you see anything?’ it was all I could do to get out the words\, ‘Yes\, wonderful things.’” – Howard Carter \nStep Into the Tomb…\nThis fall\, the Elliott Museum invites you on an extraordinary journey back in time. Opening September 19\, 2025\, our main gallery will be transformed into a breathtaking recreation of one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in history — the tomb of Tutankhamun. \nIn collaboration with Tarek Ragab and the Egyptian Art Center in Cairo\, we are proud to present “Wonderful Things… The Return of King Tut.” Like Howard Carter peering into the boy king’s tomb in 1922\, visitors will enter a mysterious\, dimly lit chamber shimmering with gold\, mystery\, and wonder. \nPainstakingly recreated by master historians and artisans in Egypt using authentic materials and centuries-old techniques\, these artifacts are more than replicas — they are a tribute to the genius and grandeur of ancient Egyptian craftsmanship. Every detail is designed to transport you — to make you feel the thrill of discovery. \nThis once-in-a-lifetime experience will run from September 19\, 2025 through April 30\, 2026\, giving you ample time to step into the shadows of history and witness the wonder for yourself. \nCome see what Carter saw. Enter the tomb. Discover the wonder. \nALL EXHIBITS ARE INCLUDED WITH REGULAR ADMISSIONS
