DESCRIPTION:Join us in uncovering the secrets of our beloved gopher tortoise on this guided nature walk at Halpatiokee Park\, May 15\, 9:00am. \n\n\n\n\nTortoises\, turtles and terrapins- oh my! On the eve of National Gopher Tortoise Day\, we will embark on a scenic nature walk to learn about the mysterious and interesting lives of these iconic animals\, as well as conservation and management efforts aimed to sustain them. For this walk we will be joined by a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission tortoise specialist! Don’t miss out! \nDETAILS \nFREE program\, but reservations are required \nThis program will begin at 9:00am and last until approximately 11:00am \nThe walk will be 2 miles across various natural surfaces\, including sand \nPlease wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear \nBring water\, sunscreen\, and bug spray \nMinors (under 18) must be accompanied by an adult \nAll participants will be required to sign waivers that will be provided at the start of the program
