Passport to Conservation Lands-Howl at the moon
December 22 – Howl at the moon
Strolling through this beautiful park at twilight will offer families the opportunity to witness both the sunset and the full moon rise, just minutes apart. This guided walk will cover a 1/4-mile trail through the Delaplane Preserve, a 51-acre nature preserve along the south fork of the St. Lucie River. Delaplane Preserve is home to native plant communities and wetlands as well as the gopher tortoise, a threatened species in Florida. Located at 6084 SW Gaines Avenue in Stuart, hikers can access Delaplane Preserve from Gaines Avenue and SW Linden Street. The full moon walk will begin at 5:00 p.m. Hikers should bring their own flashlights.
