Poetry and the Nature of the Self
Dr. Hofer, retired IRSC professor, will examine three poems that reveal various implications of how the sense of a discrete self affects the human voice. The first and last sessions will take up the self broadly, while the second and third sessions will follow the current American cultural calendar and address race in February, Black History Month, and gender in March, Women’s History Month.
The sessions will take place the last Monday of the month Jan. – April.
This Chautauqua South series is sponsored by the Friends of the Martin County Library System, Inc.
