On Saturday, October 19, from 1:00 – 9:00 pm, Jonathan Dickinson State Park invites the community to watch live burn demonstrations and learn about the importance of prescribed fire in Florida. We are partnering with the Friends of JDSP and Florida Forest Service to welcome everyone to come out and enjoy the park. Watch a day or night burn demo and join us for family-friendly fun with live music, a spooky trail, interactive hayrides, swamp buggy trail rides, truck and helicopter demos, marshmallow roasting, kid’s activities with prizes, and more! We’ll also be celebrating Smokey Bear’s 75th Birthday! Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Entrance is $6 per car with plenty of free activities and some with modest fees. For more information, follow us @FriendsofJonathanDickinsonStatePark or call 561-745-5551.
This event is sponsored by the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Inc., a community- based, non-profit organization that advocates for the historical, educational and ecological enhancement of Jonathan Dickinson State Park.
